Kobi Yamada’s book “What Do You Do With an Idea?” inspired me
to find examples of real kids with great ideas! Caine’s Arcade is a You-Tube movie about a child who created a working game arcade out of cardboard boxes! They students are now inspired to try their own great ideas!
This is our second year with Makerspaces in the library. I opened stations with 3D MagnaTiles, Legos, Coding, Bee-Bot, origami and Snap Circuits. Makerspace in the library is all about dreaming, creating and inventing. Students use Makerspace each Wednesday during lunch recess. Here are some images from the week!
I’m really pleased how MakerSpace in the library is going. The students look forward to hearing which grade is invited to the library during the Monday announcements and what they’ll be doing. Last week I introduced students to BeeBot, coding and LegoMovie Maker! Watch us in action and see what we’re learning!
Some of the hottest books are selling faster than they can be printed, but no one’s buying them to see words or photos. This fad is all about coloring books, another addition to MakerSpace! Check back next week to see awesome coloring by our fifth and sixth graders!
From Kindergarten to Sixth grade ALL classes have enjoyed at least one MakerSpace Monday!

MakerSpace Monday was open to fourth graders today in the library during lunch recess. MagnaTiles and Gears, Gears, Gears were experienced by all! This year students of all grades will have the opportunity to invent, build and create in the library which is a perfect place to inspire a new group of makers!
