Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Boyce: Student Review by Samantha H.

Cosmic is about a 12 year old boy named Liam that is over 6 feet tall and has a beard. When he is mistaken as a dad and gets chosen to go to the worlds biggest ride, he decides to lie to his parents and go. He brings his classmate Florida to act as his daughter. When they arrive, they find out that the ride is a rocket in a secret location in china! When they finally reach the moon, they became the first kids to go to the moon, with some other kids. Right when things were going great, someone presses the wrong buttons and gets them all lost in space. Will Liam save the day? or just kill them all in space? I guess you’ll just have to find out yourself.

This is a great science fiction story complete with UFO’s!  The illustrations are in the style of movies from the 50’s.  If you love Doom Machine, you’ll also enjoy reading Whales on Stilts by M.T. Anderson.  Need more ideas for Science Fiction books?
